If you are in the process of refurbishing your conservatory, installing new (or replacing old) conservatory roof blinds can be a useful addition, helping to control the temperature of the room, protect furniture or plants and provide privacy.  The Hardwood Conservatory Refurbishment Company use genuine French Pinoleum, aiming to provide the finest quality blinds that combine the height of traditional elegance and luxury with excellent functionality.  The naturally beautiful and woven wood reeds of French Pinoleum offer a stylish and timeless appeal and produce a truly relaxing and soothing natural atmosphere.  The structure of the blinds filters approximately 70% of sunlight, transforming the sun’s glare into a soft, dappled, delicate light that creates a relaxed colonial feel and comfortable environment in the warmer months, as well as natural insulation during the winter to conserve heat.

Each blind is handmade by craftsmen in Norfolk. The thin round reed construction of French Pinoleum allows the material to perform more like a cloth, allowing bespoke manufacturing and precise fitting to all shapes and angles of roof window.   The blinds are finished using neat hardwood timber trims, sewn-on edge braiding and top quality durable cords and fittings, with a choice of finishes in bronze, nickel, brass or chrome. In addition to manual pull cords, we also offer an electrically powered remote control option. Although the blinds can be left natural, we also offer the option of spray painting in any colour from the original Marston & Langinger specialist preserving paint range, allowing you to perfectly co-ordinate with your conservatory or room colour scheme, as well as helping to protect and ensure the longevity of the blinds, which are expected to last at least 20 years.

We use genuine Ballauff™ French pinoleum, made in their factory near Paris. Ballauff have a long and well respected heritage with a reputation going back over 130 years as Europe’s leading manufacturer of fine quality French pinoleum and timber blinds. Ballaufff pinoleum is manufactured using components that are in harmony with nature, combining traditional knowledge with modern materials and methods to ensure endurance and performance. As the inventor of the pinoleum blind, they have continued to develop better ways of producing the reeds, bamboo, rattan, sea grass and jute, and new methods of weaving them to produce a truly stunning range of classis designs. The environmental effects involved in the production of original Ballauff™ French pinoleum are taken very seriously indeed and as such all reed materials are sustainably sourced. They are also fully treated with fungicides and insecticides before being shipped to ensure that the finished pinoleum arrives in perfect condition. THCRC is unique in that we only offer the particular type of round reed, as opposed to the more common flat variety.  This was the most popular choice of blind at Marston & Langinger, due to its more natural quality and aesthetically pleasing appearance.
